Athens hosts International Emmy Awards Semi-Final for second year
The City of Athens, through the Athens Film Office, for the second consecutive year hosted one of the Semi-Final Judging events of the International Emmy Awards.
In a series of closed screenings, 14 Greek directors, actors and producers voted for the “Best Comedy” among six nominated series, under the supervision of members of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
The judges’ choice will be kept secret until the official ceremony of the International Emmy Awards, which will be held in New York in the fall.
The voting process was followed by a cocktail party that took place on the terrace of the Athens City Hall, in the presence of Athens Mayor Haris Doukas.
In recent years, the Greek capital has evolved into an international filming destination thanks to the support of the Athens Film Office of the City of Athens. More than 100 audiovisual productions have chosen Athens for their filming, creating multiple benefits for the local economy and the city's businesses.
