Athens signs memorandum of cooperation with Greece’s travel and tourist agencies
As part of its strategy to promote Athens globally as a year-round tourism destination, the City of Athens, through ADDMA, has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Hellenic Association of Travel and Tourist Agencies (HATTA) and the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Travel & Tourist Agencies (FedHATTA).
The memorandum also foresees the development of common initiatives that will promote Athens as an accessible and sustainable destination.
The memorandum was signed during the general assembly of the World Travel Agents Associations Alliance (WTAAA), that took place in Athens, during November 28-29, with the participation of some of the industry’s largest tourist agencies and tour operators.
“Partnerships like the one starting today, are very important and support our efforts to confront the challenges ahead”, Athens Mayor Kostas Bakoyannis said during the event.
After signing the memorandum, ADDMA’s executives had the opportunity to meet with senior officials of international travel and tourist agents’ associations from India, South Africa, Korea, Colombia, New Zealand and the US.
* The event was carried out as part of the "Development and Promotion of the Tourism and Cultural Identity of Athens in the post-CoVid era" sub-project 1.
