Athens video goes to Times Square in New York
Millions of American citizens and visitors had the opportunity to admire Athens as a modern, vibrant city through the video campaign “Athens. The city is the museum” which was broadcast for 2 weeks in November, through the impressive giant billboards of Times Square in New York.
The video, which was created by the City of Athens, the Greek Tourism Ministry and Google Greece, calls on the Greek capital’s visitors and residents to walk around and discover the city’s art, music and gastronomy experiences as well as the rich history and cultural heritage that make Athens an open-air museum.
Athens’ video was broadcast in the “heart” of New York during the busiest time of the year for Americans that includes the Thanksgiving Day celebrations and annual parade, as well as the Black Friday and Cyber Monday - two landmark sales events for the US retail market.
* The “Athens: The city is the museum” video was broadcast in New Yorks’ Time Square as part of the "Development and Promotion of the Tourism and Cultural Identity of Athens in the post-CoVid era" project of the "Attica 2014-2020” Operational Program/Sub-project 1.
