City of Athens builds new strategy to confront energy poverty

The City of Athens will soon be able to provide Athens’ residents with valuable information and advice on how to efficiently confront energy issues through its new Office on Energy Poverty which will soon be staffed with Energy Consultants and Mentors.

The project’s final details were discussed during a meeting on March 5, between Deputy Mayor for Social Solidarity and Equality Maria Stratigaki and ADDMA CEO Ioannis Georgizas. Ms. Stratigaki said the City of Athens Community Center was ready to welcome the City’s innovative project. “We aim to further contribute to the support of vulnerable social groups at a time when energy poverty is evolving into a new social threat”, she added.

According to Mr. Georgizas, "the Office will provide support to Athens’ vulnerable households and inform the society on energy behavior issues".

On Friday, March 8, the City of Athens will hold an online seminar for Energy Consultants and Mentors, in collaboration with the “Sustainable City” network and the National Technical University of Athens. More information is available 👉https://bit.ly/3TkbUXe
