City of Athens to offer know-how for the creation of film office in Western Greece
ADDMA CEO Ioannis Georgizas, Athens Film Officer Stathis Kalogeropoulos and Western Greece Deputy Governor Charalambos Bonanos recently met in Athens to discuss the potential of a cooperation, through the Athens Film Office of the City of Athens, in the audiovisual productions industry.
Discussions focused on the transfer of know-how and expertise from the Athens Film Office to the Region of Western Greece for the creation of a new film office in the area.
“Our cooperation with the Region of Western Greece will enable us to share our experience from the successful operation of the Athens Film Office”, Georgizas said after the meeting. Since its establishment in 2020, the Athens Film Office has managed Greek and international filming projects worth hundreds of millions of euros that have supported the city's economy and generated new jobs in the audiovisual industry.
According to Charalambos Bonanos, the Region is looking to attract Greek and foreign audiovisual productions as well as to promote Western Greece as a film-friendly destination.
The meeting was also attended by Western Greece Film Officer Theano Vourtsi and Special Advisor Giorgos Stamatis.
