New tourism campaign promotes Athens to New York and London
Athens’ tourism campaign video “You Belong in Athens” was recently broadcast on digital billboards in two of the world’s busiest locations: Times Square in New York and the London Tube.
Carried out through ADDMA, the campaign presented Athens as a vibrant, authentic year-round destination.
The 30’’ video showcased Athens’ center and neighborhoods through Times Square’s billboards on a 24-hour basis (every 5-10 minutes) for two months until the end of November. The video also broadcast at five stations of the London Tube (Bank, Farringdon, Whitechapel, Bond St and Tottenham Court Road) for at least 10 hours a day.
Furthermore, the video broadcast on YouTube in the tourism markets of the US, Mexico and Brazil, while it was promoted to selected audiences in France (Le Figaro), Poland and Canada.
“We invest in a city with modern infrastructure and services; an ideal destination for travelers throughout the year. With the valuable cooperation of our stakeholders, Athens’ tourism continues its upward trend and is now evolving into a point of reference for some of the world’s largest tourism markets,” Athens Mayor Kostas Bakoyannis said.
