"Tehran": New season to start filming in Athens

Athens will, once again, become the film location of “Tehran”, the Israeli espionage thriller of Apple TV+. Directed by Daniel Syrkin, “Tehran’s” 3rd season will film in central locations as well as in neighborhoods across the Greek capital.

Seasons 1 and 2 were also shot in Athens, winning over critics and viewers: In 2021 “Tehran” was announced “Best Drama Series” at the International Emmy Awards.

The series’ third season is expected to further promote Athens as a film-friendly city as well as to attract new international movie productions.

The Greek capital has hosted more than 100 international and Greek audiovisual productions during the last three years, with the contribution of the Athens Film Office and ADDMA.
