"The Owl": Applications open for the international script development workshop

Aiming to promote Athens as a film-friendly destination, the City of Athens, ADDMA and the Athens Film Office are, once again, organizing “The Owl”, the annual script development workshop for Greek and foreign scriptwriters.

“The Owl” was held for the first time in 2022, offering participants the opportunity to complete their scripts and present them to international filmmakers. The winners were announced during a special ceremony that was held during at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

This year, “The Owl” will select 10 scriptwriting professionals to participate in the mentoring and networking workshop which will take place in Athens during November 7-10, with the contribution of international film and TV mentors. The workshop will be followed by an online session in February and a group session in Athens, in September 2024.

Applicants must submit an unpublished draft of a feature film or TV pilot that could be adapted for filming in Athens and Greece.
