“Athens. The city is the museum”, a joint initiative of the City of Athens, the Greek Tourism Ministry and Google Greece, is featured in a recent article of TheMayor.EU, the European portal for cities and citizens.

The initiative launched on November 11, with the aim to promote Athens as an all-year-round tourism destination.

According to Denis Balgaranov, editor of TheMayor.EU, “the idea behind the initiative is to present the Greek capital as a multi-faceted living museum – full of street art, music, architecture and diverse cuisine around every corner. People can select different walking routes with pins showing locations of interest, similar to Google Maps. Each stop links to audio content showcasing stories, interviews and audio installations, connected to the actual place.”
